Beloved mother

Nancy was born November 20, 1952 in Torrington, daughter of the late Wallace E. and Sadie Emma (LaJoy) McDonald. Raised in Harwinton, she attended local schools and was a graduate of Lewis Mills High School. Employed by NorthEast Utilities for many years as a real estate agent, she helped grow the company’s reach throughout CT.

She will be remembered as a beacon of positive energy, a person who was constantly striving to meet, greet, and treat those new and old in her community like family. With her morning coffee, she basked in the full potential that every sunrise brought. Inquisitive and insatiable, she loved creating deep connections with new friends. When she wasn’t with family and friends, you could find her drag racing muscle cars or soaking in the sun and scenes on the back of a Harley Davidson.

She had no greater love than her son. A star baseball player through college, he always had another coach in the dugout in Nancy. With her energetic spirit, she had the gift of always keeping the team, and Aaron, charging forward. A characteristic she passed on to him.

She is survived by her son, Aaron W. Granahan of Manchester; her sister, Denise Probst of Nescopek, PA and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Debbie Bandanza and Cindy and John Goscinski for their devoted love and care.
