Mrs. Myrtle Elizabeth Reynolds Payne was born to the late Jim Reynolds and Mary Lucille Harney Reynolds on March 18, 1925, in Prospect, Tennessee. She was the fourth child out of fifteen children.
Myrtle attended the Prospect Public Schools and The Phoenix Chapel A. M. E.
Later, Myrtle moved to Richmond, Indiana and was joined in Holy Matrimony to Frank Calvin Payne on October 30, 1948. To this union six children were born. The family eventually moved to Indianapolis Indiana. Mr. Frank Calvin Payne passed away on May 28, 1999.
Myrtle was a domestic engineer and took care of her husband and children. Her work outside of the home was day work for various families.
