Myron Earl “Planky” Ireton, 78, of Ingalls, passed away May 28, 2014 at home surrounded by his family. He was born July 6, 1935 in Hancock County to the Jesse and Delilah (Kingen) Ireton.
He served in the Army and was a cement mason for over 43 years, retiring in 2000. Myron had been an Ingalls volunteer firefighter and a member of the Fortville American Legion Post 391 and Operative Plasters & Cement Masons Local 692.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn (Wilson) Ireton whom he married on November 29, 1958; daughter Brenda (Dave) Smith of Markleville; son Brian (Becky) Ireton of Pendleton; grandchildren Steven and Allison Smith and Brandon and Brooklyn Ireton; niece Justina Wilson of Anderson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jesse Ireton.
