Myra Lee Wheat Dawsey died on Thursday, March 24, 2022 of natural causes at home among family and friends. She was the daughter of Daniel Carter Wheat and Angelina Josephine Farr Wheat of the Buck Branch Community. Her husband of 58 years, Ralph C. Dawsey, Sr. of the Logtown Community, preceded her in death in 2005 and awaits her at God’s side. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Linda Marie Dawsey-Cannon (husband: Michael (deceased)), Laura Jane (Janie) Dawsey-Gayaut of Diamondhead, MS; her son, Ralph C. Dawsey, Jr. (wife: Lisa) of Leaksville, MS; four grandchildren: Kimberly Cannon-Griffin (husband: Eddie); Tiffany Lynn Satterwhite (husband: Jason) – U.S. Air Force, Farmville, VA; Joshua Gayaut of Pearl River, LA, and Kyle Gaddy (wife: Heather) of Waveland, MS; many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Myra is also survived by her brother, James D. Wheat (wife: Priscilla) of Crossroads, MS. Myra was a graduate of Buck Branch High School, and Mississippi State College, Class of 1947, where she received a teaching degree. She was a resident of Carriere, MS, and an active member of First Baptist Church of Carriere, MS since 1970. Myra was the Kindergarten teacher at the First Baptist Church of Carriere and bus driver for Pearl River Central until her retirement. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Carriere, MS.
