Muriel Rita Miranne Fitzwilliam, born on Mardi Gras Day in 1927, was called to her eternal rest on January 19, 2016 at Highland Community Hospital in Picayune, MS due to cardiac failure and respiratory complications. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Picayune. While unable to attend, she witnessed Catholic Masses and the daily recitation of the Rosary as an avid viewer of EWTN and WLAE. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred C. Miranne Sr. and Irene Pasley Miranne, by her siblings Alfred C. Miranne Jr. and Irene Miranne Stokes, and by her former spouse Patrick Fitzwilliam..S.B.) of St. Benedict, LA and by her children Michael Fitzwilliam (Carol) of Picayune, MS, Jacqueline Fitzwilliam Lark (Jim Jr.) of Madisonville, LA, Dennis Fitzwilliam of Sugarland, TX, Robert Fitzwilliam of Houston, TX, and Debbie Fitzwilliam Greenberg (Steve) of Cumming, GA; by her grandchildren Sean Fitzwilliam (Sophie Capmartin) and Kevin Fitzwilliam of New Orleans, Jeffrey Lark and Brian Lark of Madisonville, LA; and by her great-grandson Oscar Luc Fitzwilliam. Muriel was born and lived in New Orleans for 33 years, and also resided in Jacksonville, FL, Chamblee, GA, Houston, TX, and was a resident of Picayune since 2004. She worked for IBM in Houston and has many friends there. She attended Holy Rosary, Holy Name of Jesus, St. Joseph’s Academy, and Ursuline College in New Orleans. She loved art and beauty, sketching, Pete Fountain, Frank Sinatra, and shopping. She was a member of the Retirement Attraction Committee in the city of Picayune and was a past member of the New Orleans Jaycees.. Charles Borromeo church in Picayune on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 10 a.m.-10:45 a.m., followed by a Mass at 11 a.m.. Patrick’s #2 cemetery in New Orleans. We commend the medical staff at Highland Community Hospital for their personal care during Muriel’s last week of life..
