Juanita Faye Andrews-Travis

Juanita Andrews-Travis was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 12, 1952 to Frank and Mayme Finkton Andrews.
Juanita attended Indianapolis Public School #41 and Crispus Attucks High School. She spent several years living in Joliet, Illinois where he worked as a caretaker for senior adults. Upon returning to Indianapolis she was employed as a “Cook Extraordinaire” at the Salvation Army Harbor Lights Center.
Juanita enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved going on casino trips. She always had a listening ear, an open door, and an “infectious smile with dimple to die for.” Family could always be found at her home on holidays to enjoy a home cooked meal.
Juanita, known affectionately as “Baby Sister” departed this life on May 11, 2021 at the age of 68 years old. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mayme Finkton Andrews; her father, Frank Andrews; brothers, Stanley Finkton, and James Andrews; and sister, Willa Mae Brooks.
Juanita leaves to cherish her memory her significant other, Steven Moore; two daughters, Trina Andrews and Kim Tarry; sons, Kevin Andrews and Eric Andrews; brothers, Wilbert Finkton, Lawrence Andrews and Frank Andrews; sisters, Judith Cox and Arlee Solomon; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many close friends.
