Evelyn Solone Washington, daughter of the late Willie “Pat” Solone and Anna Hill Solone, was born on December 22, 1926 in Holly Hill, South Carolina. Evelyn was the oldest girl of nine children. She entered into eternal rest on February 16, 2016 in the comfort of her granddaughter’s home.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Joanne “Dahl” Tolbert.
Evelyn leaves to cherish her memory are her children, Jimmie (Yvonne) Washington of Washington, D.C., Larry (Marcietta) Washington of Fort Washington, Maryland, Merina Washington of Capital Heights, Maryland, and Stanley (Lisa) Washington of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; one sister, Sarah Ann Elmore of Vance, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Auvanette (James) Ellison of Columbia, South Carolina, Andre, Gregory, Taylor, Austin, Talia, Tyreese, and Taurus Washington of Washington, D.C.; two great grandchildren, Erin and Lavelle Tolbert of Columbia, South Carolina; one goddaughter, Michelle Bouknight of Washington, D.C.; four sisters-in-law, ValJean Tyson, Marjorie Washington both of Holly Hill, South Carolina, Bell Solone of Manning, South Carolina, and Dororty Prezzy of Vance, South Carolina; one brother-in-law, Louis Washington of Holly Hill, South Carolina; two special children, Darrell and Jacqueline Sumpter of Woodbridge, Virginia; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
