Mrs. Ed Brooks passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 with her husband and loving family surrounding her. She is survived by her husband, William E. Brooks, Jr., her sons, William E. (Linda) Brooks III, Jordan E. (Lisa) Brooks, and daughters, Priscilla B. (Vincent) Long and Rebecca B. (Greg) Watson. She’s also survived by her grandchildren, Sarah B. (John) Bigham , Will Brooks, Georgia P. Long, V.J. Long, Ben Watson, Duncan Watson, India Brooks and great-grandson Alexander B. Bigham. Miss Ed was born in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from Sullains College for Women and the University of Alabama. She held a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Studies and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Soriety where she has remained active for 73 years. Miss Ed volunteered for a number of charitable organizations in Alabama, Indiana, and Florida. One of her favorite volunteer jobs was as a “pink lady” for over 20 years at Gulf Breeze Hospital. She enjoyed being active member of the Pensacola Music Study Club, the Pensacola Opera Guild, and the Pensacola Symphony Guild.
