Tanya Tenille Alston Knight embraced this earthly life May 11, 1977. Tanya was beckoned home to be with her heavenly father on August 25, 2021. With arms wide open, God received her as his own faithful servant. 

Tanya is the daughter of Mrs. Janice Matthews and Mr. Howard Alston. She is the wife of Elder Christopher Knight. 

Tanya was a faithful member at Emmanuel Fellowship Church of God in Christ for many years. Her spiritual journey then led her to become a member of Kingdom Culture Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Shawn Cox. 

Tanya graduated from Jordan Matthews High School in 1995. Tanya also received her Early Childhood Credentials at Central Carolina Community College. This degree led her into the greatest passion of working with children. Tanya worked at Randleman Enrichment Center for 12 years. Tanya also loved her REC family. During these years she touched the lived of many families. The children she encountered were give a nurturing and profound love. 

Tanya loved going on vacations with her beloved husband Chris. She loved decorating and crafting. Tanya started a business a few years ago as a Consultant for Scentsy. She worked herself up to Director. She was very dedicated to pleasing her clients and keeping everything smelling good. 

Precious memories will always linger. Tanya leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of twenty-one years, Christopher Knight of Randleman, NC; her mother, Mrs. Janice Matthews (Donald) of Siler City, NC; her father, Mr. Howard Alston (Vickie) of Pittsboro, NC; son Jamar Knight of Greensboro, NC; daughter Quela Knight of Durham, NC; granddaughter Gia; brother Kelly Alston of Kernersville, NC; step-brother Marcus Tyndall (Tracie) of Greensboro, NC; step-sister Carrie M. Horton of Siler City, NC; one spiritual daughter Celia Phillips (Chris) of Pittsboro, NC. Tanya also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends whom she dearly loved.
