Shirley Jean Hoerchler, 68, of Centralia, passed away, Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was born January 12, 1951 in Belleville, daughter of Edward Wolters, Sr. and Jean (Peltes) Wolters. She married Michael Hoerchler on February 6, 1971 and he survives in Centralia.

In addition to her husband of 48 years, Michael Hoerchler of Centralia, she is also survived by three children: Sherri Hoerchler-Spillman and husband Brandon of Williston, FL, Shelly Hoerchler-Johnson of Mascoutah, and Jason Hoerchler and wife Lindsey of Centralia; seven grandchildren: Ryan Whitt of Albers, Tyler Johnson of Mascoutah, Dylan Bucci of Williston, FL, Samantha Spillman of Williston, FL, Kelsey Spillman of Williston, FL, Emily Hoerchler and Jacob Hoerchler both of Centralia; a brother: Edward Wolters, Jr. of Albers; two sisters: Diane Wolters of Albers and Tammy Enfield and husband Danny of Tallahassee, FL; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Robert Hoerchler of OR, Timothy Hoerchler and wife Diane of New Baden, Marian Hoerchler of Colorado Springs, CO, Bonnie Wells and husband Lou of Chatham, Gordon Hoerchler and wife Anita of New Baden, and Colleen Hoerchler of New Baden; several nieces and nephews.

She was precede in death by her parents: Edward and Jean Wolters, a brother: James “Jimmy” Wolters, a sister: Mary Jo Massey, father and mother-in-law: Harold and Norma Hoerchler, and brothers-in-law: Martin “Marty” Hoerchler and Theodore Hoerchler.

Shirley worked at the Centralia American Legion Post 446 for 18 years as the Bar Manager. She attended St. Mary’s Church in Centralia. Shirley enjoyed shopping, making arts and crafts, and decorating. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.
