Sara Tomlinson, 94, a resident of Valley, AL passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Mrs. Tomlinson was preceded in death by her mother & father, Ruth Pearl Cantrell Dykes and James Elmer Dykes; her husband, William Curtis Tomlinson; three sons, Jimmy Shelton, Joe Shelton, & Randy Tomlinson; grandson, Jamie Shelton; son-in-law, Ricky Fincher; and brothers, Doug, Aubrey, Cullen, & Baxter Dykes.
She is survived by her children, Glenda (Jerry) Strong, Penny Fincher, Phillip (Brenda) Tomlinson, Phyllis (Gary) Hammock; brother, Ellis Dykes; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was born on January 13, 1928 in Shawmut, AL. She was retired from Fairfax Manufacturing and then worked at Shawmut Baptist Daycare as a cook, where she loved cooking for the little children. She liked to read and cook and enjoyed talking on the telephone. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
