Patricia Ann Myers Broceus Gardner, 83, of Midway, Florida, passed away on July 1, 2019 at Madison County Memorial Hospital.
A daughter of the now late Roy A. Myers and Bessie Jewel Vinning Myers, she was born in Newark, Ohio on January 23, 1936. She is also preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Gardner and Thomas McCreadie; son-in-law, Michael Fields; and fur-babies, Cooper, Angel, Bailey, Maxwell and Ginger.
She attended and graduated in 1954 from Newark Senior High School before attending Nursing School in Zanesville, Ohio. After school she enjoyed working at Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville as well as Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Pat also worked for Northmount Schools in Dayton, Ohio and drove a school bus. She later worked for Dr. Fugi and Dr. Barrow in Dayton.
Patty was active with her children’s school functions and after school activities. She was active in Girl Scouts and Brownies and made sure that all of her children learned a musical instrument. In the summer months, you could see her busy driving the kids to Lake Isabelle for swimming, Newark Roller Skating Rink and to tap dancing and baton lessons. The winter months were always reserved for ice skating.
She married Don Broceus after high school and had three children, Michelle, Melody and Doug. After her divorce, she married Andras Varga. After her divorce from Andras, she met and married the love of her life, Thomas Gardner and had a son, Shawn. They lived in Nashport, Ohio and Pat learned to drive a truck. Later they moved to Englewood, Ohio where she enjoyed driving the bus and working in area nursing homes.
Pat moved to Florida in 1998 and remarried Thomas McCreadie and they enjoyed going on cruises and Florida football games.
She is survived by her children, Melody Field Boone, Michelle (Dean) Foster, Doug (Renee) Broceus and Shawn Gardner; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her family wishes to thank Madison Nursing Home and all who cared for her during her last days. They also would like to extend a thank you to Nada Garrin of Zanesville, Ohio and Wanda of Florida who were like daughters to her.
