Mrs. Myrtle Rogers, 82 of 63 Pete Roberson Rd., Pittsboro, NC passed Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at her residence.

Mrs. Myrtle Mae Rogers, daughter of the late Willie Brooks and the late Bertha Brooks, was born August 15, 1930, in Chatham County, North Carolina. She quietly took flight to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, June 26, 2013.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Elmer Jake Rogers. To this union, seven children were born, one, Willie Rogers, preceded her in death.

Her education was provided from a small school called St. Matthews, in Chatham County. She was a member of Mitchell Chapel AME Zion Church, where she attended faithfully until her declining health.

This great woman of God, was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all that knew her. After her husband passed away, 33 years ago, she stepped right up and devoted all of her time to raising the seven children and grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory, six children. Elmer Rogers Jr., (Nancy), Siler City, NC., Robert Rogers (Elaine), Pittsboro, NC., Hattie Rogers, Pittsboro, NC., Annie Reaves (Ernest), Bear Creek, NC., Kathie Rogers, Pittsboro, NC., and Johnnie Rogers (Georgia), Pittsboro, NC. Five grandchildren, Rev. Jermaine Rogers, Latasha Reaves, Charles Rogers, Jeanette Frazier (Leon), and Jennifer Nicole Rogers. Two great-grandchildren, Jahlani Reaves and Zadia Frazier. One step-grandchild, Tyrone Mckoy (Kathy). Two step grandchildren Felicia and Mia. She also leaves to cherish her memory, two brothers, Vernon Brooks (Helen), Pittsboro, NC., James Brooks, Danville, VA., one sister, Lucille Goldston, Siler City, one sister-in-law, Hattie Brooks, Pittsboro, NC., and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
