Mrs. Maud Turner Meadows, age 75, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Meadows was born in West Point, Georgia on April 13, 1941 to the late Howard and Nadine Turner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gaines Meadows; sisters, Lettie Hadaway and Sheila Childers; great great-nephew, Corey Murphy.
Mrs. Meadows was a member of the Westside Baptist Church in Lanett. She worked for the Playtex Corporation in LaFayette. She later went to work for George H. Lanier Hospital and Nursing Home, where she worked in the business office.
She was a member of the Little Boston Club. She was an avid reader and loved her collection of books.
She was an avid University of Alabama Football fan and was one of Elvis’ biggest fans.
She is survived by her nieces, Deanne (Ron) Deese, Tia (Tim) Edge; great nephews, Chris (Lynn) Murphy, Brandon Edge; great niece, Latisha Edge; step son, Leslie (Lynn) Meadows; step daughter, Reba (Leon) Hardin; 3 step granddaughters, 1 step grandson; 4 great great-nieces; 2 great great-nephews; sister-in-law, Marge Nealy; special friend, Fannie Myers.
