Mary A. Timmons, daughter of Anthony and Lula (Borre) Nealon, was born July 18, 1936 on a farm near Wolbach. She entered into rest Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at the Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln at the age of 72 years.
Mary has been involved with the Wolbach Schools and then recently the Greeley-Wolbach Schools for over 35 years. She has always been a bus driver and has also been a custodian and a playground supervisor over the years.
She was united in marriage to Duane Timmons on January 23, 1955 in Scotia.
Mary was a very active in the Wolbach community. She was one of the first Wolbach EMT’s starting on the squad in 1986 when it was created. She has been an active EMT ever since.
Mary was a member of the Dorcas Circle at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach. She was serving as vice president of the Wolbach Community Club and the Board of Directors of the Wolbach Community Foundation.
Mary served in the color guard of the American Legion Auxiliary, was a charter member of the Town and Country Club, and was involved with the Red Cross bloodmobile for the Wolbach area serving as a co-coordinator.
Survivors include her husband Duane “Tim” of Wolbach; a daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Rich Iliff of Omaha; a son, Larry Timmons of Kearney; two grandchildren, Kyle Iliff and his wife Nicole of Omaha and Krista Iliff of Omaha; and a sister and brother-in-law, Velma and Fred McIntyre of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jerry and Bryan Timmons; a brother, Gene Nealon and a sister, Betty Gantt.
