Maralyn (Barre) Callahan died peacefully July 30, 2011 in Old Saybrook, CT.

She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, John “Jack” Callahan.

Maralyn, the daughter of the late Albin and Florence Barre, was born August 16, 1926 in Springfield, Ma. For many years she lived in the Meriden/Wallingford area where she owned several businesses, including TBowl Lanes in Wallingford. An avid bowler and golfer, she was a member of the Professional Woman’s Bowling Association.

Before retiring to Myrtle Beach, SC, she and Jack spent many fun filled summers with family and friends at their cottage on West Beach, Westbrook.

She is survived by her loving son Jack (Rita) Callahan of Westbrook, grandchildren Christopher (Lara Vinale) Callahan of Venice Italy, Kelly (Timothy) Bragdon of Haddam, Ct., great-grandchildren who adored their GG, Jessica and Eliza Callahan and their mother Hilary of Shrewsbury, UK, Mark and Sean Callahan of Venice, Italy and Kiera and Lilly Bragdon of Haddam, CT., her sisters Nathalie De Pietro of Meriden, Janet Markarian of Middletown, brothers Lawrence “Skip” Barre of Meriden and Michael of California, many nieces, nephews and friends in Connecticut and South Carolina. She was predeceased by her brothers Al, Ronnie, David, Peter and Dana Barre.
