Lucinda Caldwell so affectionately called “Lucy” by her family & friends was Blessed to be born fourth of nine children to Deacon John & Dorothy Rhodes on 2/25/54 in Atlanta Georgia.

LUCY attended Atlanta Public Schools. As a child LUCY was said to be a “Good Big Sister & Protector” of her brothers & sisters that she loved so well!

LUCY was blessed with a melodious high pitched Soprano voice that captivated the ears of all listeners. She loved singing even as a little girl & displayed her Gift on the School Talent Shows. And she sang in the Chorus during both her Elementary and High School years.

LUCY was introduced to God at a very early age by her wonderful saved parents. She was raised in a Christian home filled with Love & with a respect for the Covering of the Holyghost. The family served in the Glad St.

LUCY felt truly Blessed & was made whole when God gave her the Apple of her Eye & the most precious Gift of all, in a beautiful bundle of Joy that she named Tangi! Her sweet one & only child that she loved more and than Life itself! There was nothing Tangi wouldn’t do to show her Mother just how much she loved & appreciated her. And LUCY knew that.

LUCY’s Spiritual Gift of Singing truly began to blossom. She soon became a Gospel Songbird for the Lord!

LUCY met the Love of her Life…Roosevelt Caldwell all in this same period.

LUCY was employed at Fort Gilliam AAFES for over 25 years where she played an intricate role & was a great asset to the Kellogg Co.

LUCY was preceded in death by her Father Deacon Rhodes, two of her Brothers Johnny & Michael & two of her sisters Linda & Cynthia.

LUCY loved her family like none other. She was always full of Fun, Games & her own special Shenanigans. She would enter her Mothers home & just to aggravate her and make her Mom would yell in her highest pitched Soprano voice DOROTHY LEWIIIIISSSS!!!!! That just made her day!

LUCY made up nicknames for everybody… Tangi & Diamond were her Everything! Rev. Butler was her “Elder”. Qurlinda was her “Duke”.  Kenneth Lowe was her “Skinny”. Geno was her “Skeen”. Kenyatta was her “PhD & Yatta”. And so many other nicknames which are too numerous to state. LUCY would holler the names out as soon as the person approached & would then bust out in the funniest laugh ever!!! You couldn’t help but to get tickled along with her.

Lucy leaves to cherish her forever fond memories to: A sweet caring Mother Dorothy Rhodes. A loving & very dedicated daughter Tangi Green. A precious grand daughter Diamond Amber Charles. A devoted loving husband Roosevelt Caldwell. Sister Pamela “Phebie” Hogan & brothers Anthony (Robin) Wayne & Christopher. Maternal Aunt Willie Lee Jordan & Uncle Revs. Samuel & Lois Obie. One paternal Aunt Ezella Scott.

Brother and sister-in-law Melvin Caldwell (Sally) & Florine Johnson.

Ten Special appointed children by marriage. One loving Godson Geno Lewis. And a host of other relatives & friends.

On February 7, truly Found Jesus! As she’d proclaimed for years! And her Soul was truly made Glad because the God she sang about for a Lifetime called her home!!! The Battle is now over & she shall wear a Crown! In that New Jerusalem!

Jesus has cracked the Sky & Lucy can now tell this old world Goodbye!

“WELL DONE THY GOOD & FAITHFUL SERVANT!”
