Ida (nee Frappolli) Manes, 97, formerly of Burlington, NJ and most recently a resident of Brandywine Senior Living in Howell, NJ, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at the home of her daughter in Jackson, NJ, with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren at her side.
She was born and raised in Florence, NJ, and resided in Burlington for nearly 70 years.
Ida was the last surviving sibling of eleven children born to Carlo & Rosa (nee Bresciani) Frappolli. She worked in the retail clothing industry until the age of 70 and was known for her great sense of style. She was a member of the original Woman’s Club of Burlington, the Young At Heart and the Altar & Rosary Society of St. Paul’s Church in Burlington. Ida and her late husband Alphonso enjoyed many wonderful summers on Long Beach Island, NJ and winters on Hutchinson Island, FL. Recently she spent summer vacations on Cape Cod and loved her visits to San Francisco.
Ida’s husband Alphonso predeceased her in 1997.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Joanne Voytovich (Robert) of Jackson, NJ and three beloved grandchildren; Mary Elizabeth Hoerle (Kenneth) of Westfield, NJ, Amy Manes Bracken (James) of Bridgewater, MA and R. Michael Voytovich, Jr. (Ashley) of Millbrae, CA and her nine great-grandchildren; Caroline, Christopher, Maryclare, Daniel, Luke, James, Katherine, Leo and Max. Many nieces and nephews survive her including the “five angels”; Clare Murnane, Cecilia Bayless, Joan Farletta, Vera Weincyzk and Rosemarie Irwin. She also leaves behind her best friend and confidante, Pat Gallagher.
