Evelyne Marie Laisure Marshall left her earthly shell behind and journeyed to eternal rest to her heavenly home early Saturday morning, September 30, 2017 at her home in Rolesville, North Carolina. Evelyne, the eldest of four children, was born in Eden, North Carolina on October 9, 1922 to Chalmus and Margaret Laisure. Evelyne moved from Eden North Carolina with her parents to Cleveland, OH at an early age before relocating to New York. Evelyne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband, George Marshall and siblings; Gilbert Laisure, Zinzendorf Laisure and Inez Laisure Butts.

Evelyne was a member of Westbury United Methodist Church in New York for 50 years before relocating to North Carolina five years ago. While a member, she served in the women’s ministry and at the annual bazaar in the “White Elephant Room”. Her favorite scripture was “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8

Evelyne completed high school and enrolled in a secretarial program before becoming a government worker during World War II and worked in the department of Defense. Evelyne loved working in the library and retired after 37 years of service to the Westbury School District at the age of 82.

Evelyne loved to travel and would say yes to every opportunity to join family or friends on travel excursions. Traveling to Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Aruba, Portugal, Hawaii, Bahamas, and St. Thomas to name a few. Evelyne was a classy lady and would always be seen with hair and nails immaculately done.
