Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee The desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; Trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass.
Psalm 37:4-5
On the morning of March 20, 2021 at 5:30 a.m. an angel came silently into the room of Mrs. Deloise Barber at the Laurels of Chatham in Pittsboro, NC and took our loved one away. She is ever near us though unseen. There is no death, the Giver just claimed back his loved one unto Himself. Deloise, better known to her family and friends as mama, grandma, Lois, Aunt Lois, and so many other names that she would answer to.
She attended Chatham County Public Schools. During early childhood, Deloise became a member of Centennial A.M.E. Zion Church, Bear Creek, NC where she served as president of the Missionary Department, the Deaconess Board, Lay Council member, choir member and other affiliations including being a member of Bear Creek Bonlee Savings Club, member of the Womble-Chavis American Legion Post #101 Ladies Auxiliary, Past Worthy Matron of Friendship Chapter #521 Siler City, NC and Bear Creek Community Watch Informer.
On December 20, 1946 she was married to the late Sam Junior Barber and they were happily married for fifty-seven years. To this beautiful union four children were born, Louvenia, Louis, Clarice (deceased) and Milton Frederick (deceased).
She leaves to mourn: a loving, dedicated and faithful daughter, Mrs. Louvenia Kirby (Rudolph) of Pittsboro, NC; one son, Bishop Louis S. Barber (Gayla), Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren, Donald, Michelle (Berry), Louis, Jr. (Lucretia), Stevie and Elena (Eric); eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Mr. Maurice Marsh of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Mrs. Marjorie White, Pittsboro, NC; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
