CLARE MARILYN KIRCHNER “TOMMIE” FAVRET died on Wednesday, December 2 at the age of 86. Born in Savannah in 1923 and raised in Sardis, Georgia by her parents Roy and Alma Kirchner along with her late sister Audrey Clark and late brother Roy Kirchner. Beloved wife of Raoul “Bill” Favret, mother of William Favret of Aberdeen, North Carolina and Renee Brockhoeft of Austin, Texas. In addition to William and Renee, she is survived by her son-in-law Wesley Brockhoeft, 4 grandchildren (Shana F. Batchelor, William Ruston Favret, Ty Jonathan Brockhoeft, Leslie Claire Brockhoeft), and four great-grandchildren (Hunter Batchelor, Jordan Batchelor, Jeysen Batchelor, and Raoul J. Favret). She attended Georgia State College for Women from the fall of 1940 through the spring of 1942 after which she went to work as a typist-stenographer at Fort Gordon where she met Bill, then an officer in the US Army. They married in 1945 after Bill returned from Europe at the end of WWII and then moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, Bill’s home.
