Cara Adora Mason Alston was born August 18, 1943 to the late Robert Hayworth “Buck” Mason and Ollie Pearl Lee Mason.
She attended Chatham County Schools in Siler City, North Carolina and worked for Townsend Chicken plant in Siler City for 24 years. Cara joined Lamberts Chapel Church at an early age and later joined Centennial AME Church in Bear Creek, North Carolina where she served on the usher board and sang in the Centennial gospel choir.
On January 10, 2023, at the age of 79, Cara departed her earthly body and made a transition to her final resting place. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Iree Alston; parents, Robert and Pearl Mason; sister, Maryliza Mason; four brothers, Robert “Bob” Mason, Henry Mason, Lendell Mason, Adolphus “Scrap” Mason; Cara was the last sibling to pass.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children Shirley Mason Brim of Siler City NC; Sheila Mason (Henry) Bland of Pittsboro, NC, Anthony “Stinker” (Yvonne) Goldston, Mark “Coke” Mason, Bernard Crump (her godson) all of Siler City, NC and Walter (Samantha) Goldston of Coleridge, NC; one sister-in-law, Faye Brim Mason; nine grandsons, Michael (Brittany) Brim of Pearl City, Hawaii, Tony Harris, Malcolm Mason both of Asheboro, NC, Quincy (Brooke) Mason of Sanford, NC, Henry Bland III, Mikhail Bland both of Pittsboro, NC, Terrell (Lendy) Goldston, Dillon Goldston and Craig Brim all of Siler City, NC; fifteen great grandchildren and host of loving nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
