WATERBURY — Arlene D. (Denshick) Owens, 79, of formerly of Cardinal Lane, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at Waterbury Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles G. Owens.
Arlene was born Sept. 1, 1932, in New Britain, daughter of the late Frank & Arline (Needham) Denshick. She was a graduate of New Britain High School and had been an employee of the A&P Company for 45 years.
Arlene is survived by her brother & sister-in-law, Robert & Lorraine Denshick of South Windsor; a sister-in-law Irene Owens of Wolcott, her seven children & nine grandchildren: Gregory Owens & wife Kim (Steven & Andrew) of Suwanee, GA; Gary Owens & wife Eileen (Shannon) of Naugatuck; John Owens of Waterbury; Ellen Owens of Waterford; Mary Gibrall & husband Philip (Jillian Van Winkle, Ava & Ann Margaret Gibrall) of Richmond, VA; Nancy Santos & husband Hank (Eric & Kyle) of Bristol, & Cynthia Carta (Ashley) of Plainville. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, & great nieces & nephews. Arlene was predeceased by her first husband, Raymond Peter Brownstein of New Britain.
Arlene was an avid supporter of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 and the Connecticut Special Olympics 2666 State St.
