Arabel Lacoume Haab, age 90, passed away at home on February 5, 2010.
Mrs. Haab was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, and has resided with her daughter in Madisonville since Katrina. She was the beloved and devoted wife of Kenneth August Haab, and the beloved mother of Karen Stastny, Edah Schmidt , Christian Haab, and Mark Haab. She was the mother-in-law of Dale Stastny, Frederick Schmidt, Teresa Haab and Denise Haab. She was also the very proud Maw-Maw of Kate Stastny Kershenstine (Tim), Neal Stastny, Elka Schmidt, Stefan Schmidt (Amy), Evan Schmidt, Joshua Haab, Kenneth Haab, Kolbe Haab and Skyler Haab. She was also the Great- Grandmother of Brooke Schmidt and Elise Schmidt. She is survived by her nieces and dear friends, Dorothy Russell Houser and Gloria Russell Davies. She is also survived by her faithful companions Scout and Mitzie. She was predeceased by her mother Edah Lacoume and father Louis Lacoume, as well as her brother Weston Lacoume and sister Rae Lacoume Tonry.
