Willard Jerome Lee,was born on June 17, 1949 in Moncure, NC to the late John William Lee and Hattie Godwin Lee.
As a child he attended Mt. View A.M.E. Zion Church and sang with his brothers and sisters in the Youth Choir.
After graduating from Horton High School in Pittsboro, NC, Willard moved to Brooklyn, NY and worked for the Kodak Filming Company. While in New York, he met and married Rosetta Cromartie. Upon the closing of Kodak, he, Rosetta and their son, Martin, moved to St. Pauls, NC.
Willard departed this life on May 10, 2022 at the Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Rosetta Cromartie Lee; a grandson, Martin Lee, Jr. ; brothers, James Wallace Lee, Bernard Lambert Lee, Marzell Ray Lee; his sisters, Constella Lee McIver and Carolyn Lee Bradley.
Loving memories will be cherished by: his two sons, Howard Everette(Iris), Martin Luther Lee; brothers,Harold Lee(Haroldine), Hermon Lee(Jacqueline“Sylvia”), Leon Lee (Jacqueline“Jackie”), Raymond Lee(Virginia); sisters, Joan Lee Bradley, Armentha Lee Davis, Cledia Holland (Wayne), Vanessa Lee Newby(Steve); and very dear friends, Vonnie Colson; four granddaughters, Maya, Rosetta, Alliyah and Karrington Lee; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
