Steven Russell Bump, Sr. age 69, longtime resident of Milford and beloved husband to Donna Verespey Bump, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Milford Hospital. Born on October 8, 1942 in Oneonta, NY, he was the son of the late Sheldon and Louise Bump of Otego, NY. Steve served with pride and honor in the US Air Force from 1960 to 1964, serving time in Korea and honorably discharged. He was employed by Bendix in Sidney, NY as a machine operator and later by Bic Corporation in Milford where he retired in 2008.
In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by a son, Steven Bump, Jr of Milford, Daughter, Lisa Meschutt of Oneonta, NY, a sister, Elizabeth Bettiol and her husband Eugene of Oneonta, NY and four cherished grandchildren, Alexander and Jonathan Meschutt and Emily and Meredith Bump. He was predeceased by brothers, Sheldon Bump, Jr and Robert Bump and sisters, Phyllis Koepke and Judy Bump.
