Mr. Sammy Douglas Ballard, age 72, of Menlo, GA, died Sunday, September 27, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Ballard was born March 26, 1948, in Trion, GA, son of the late Paul Eugene “Gene” Ballard and Darnelle Tucker Ballard. He was a 1966 graduate of Chattooga High School and received his Mechanical Engineering Degree from Georgia Tech in 1971. He co-owned and operated Ballard Builders with his brother, Tommy. Mr.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Hall Ballard; son, Scott (Nikki) Ballard; daughter, Kathy (Tony “Hoopie”) Cooper; brothers, Don (Betty) Ballard, Tommy (Siggie) Ballard; a sister, Ann Ballard Willis; and grandchildren, Braxton Ballard, Anaston Ballard, Isabella Cooper, Samuel Cooper, Daniel Cooper, and JohnLuke Cooper; special friends, Paul (Jeanette) Clayton; and several nieces and nephews.
