Middlebury- Mr. Richard F. “Spike” McCarroll, 80, died peacefully on Thursday, September 8, at his summer home in Milford, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Bernice (Lenkowski) McCarroll.
Son of the late Harold L. and Catherine (Mancini) McCarroll, Richard was born on December 22, 1930 in Waterbury. He had attended the Cheshire Academy and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. He then attended St. Bonaventure University in New York and the University of Connecticut until being drafted by United States Army. He retired as a computer programmer from the City of Waterbury.
He is survived by his son, Douglas McCarroll of Middlebury; his daughter, Suzanne Flores of Middlebury; four grandsons and one granddaughter. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas.
