Richard Allen Shepherd, 58, of Tallahassee, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017. A son of James Shepherd and Margaret Harvell Gatlin, he was born in Dothan, Alabama, on January 16, 1959. His step-father, Frank Gatlin, preceded him in death. He faithfully served our country in the United States Army, and later retired as a Deputy with the Leon County Sheriff’s Department. He was also a member of the Jackson Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and doing household projects with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his mother; Margaret Harvell Gatlin; children, Chris (Lora) Shepherd and Jennifer Shepherd; grandchildren, Peyton Shealey and Alexis Milam; and brothers, David Shepherd and Warren Shepherd.
