Our Dad Paul Lawson was Mr. Fix it. Broken computers, electronics, and fishing poles. You name it he could McGuyver that thing back together. He confessed that when he found out Mom had cancer, and how advanced it was, he pulled over while driving on the Merritt Parkway in New York and cried, because he knew he wouldn’t be able to fix her. She passed away a week before he did, and although he was sick longer, he had to make sure she was ok, before he let go. He loved us all in a quiet sure way. Gentle support, and quick witted humor (he even named his tumor, an homage to Star Trek, “el Topo”). Our parents were among our closest friends, there is no easy way to say goodbye to such sweet, easy going people. So instead of goodbye, we will just celebrate and remember all the warm laughter and the “Hi there, party people!” greetings that filled the room with their presence. My Dad was a well educated man, who graduated from Yale University in 1975.
