Leo Sebastian Pfeifer joined the Lord on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at the age of 80. It was his wish to die at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on a farm in Selz, North Dakota. He was a resident of Devils Lake, North Dakota and 57 year resident of Harahan, Louisiana.
Survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Ione Mootz of 57 years and nine children: Diane (Milton) Graff, Susan (Patrick) Claffey, Janet (Michael) Wolf, Nancy (Neil) Santolucito, Linda Gordy (Dennis Epp), David Pfeifer (Carmen Martinez), Gregory Pfeifer (Gary LeWinter), Mary Beth (Scott) Dunlap, and Kevin (Kelli) Pfeifer; and his thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Also survived by his sister, Magdalena (James) Thilmony and brother, August (Carolyn) Pfeifer; and three uncles, George (Mikelene) Ludwig, Adam (Dolly) Ludwig, and Michael (Theresia) Ludwig. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and cherished friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, John H. Pfeifer and Marie Ludwig, and an infant son, Michael Clarence.
Leo served in the U.S. Army (Veteran of the Korean War), retired from Mossy Motors after 39 years, and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.
