Jazz Walker Siler, affectionately known as “The Can Man,” was born November 25, 1936, to the late Lacy and Fannie Siler of Chatham County

On Friday, March 4, 2022, surrounded by his son and family the Lord called Jazz from labor to reward. This was an appointment he could not miss.

Jazz was educated in the public school system of Chatham County, North Carolina. Jazz was baptized at an early age and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior.

On January 20, 1962, he was joined in holy matrimony to the late Yvonne Graves Siler. The Lord blessed this union with one daughter Veronica Suzette Martin and one son Norman Vincent Siler.

Jazz was employed by Selig Manufacturer Company (Shipping and Receiving). Once Selig Manufacturer Company shut down, Jazz started working for Collins and Aikman (C&A) until retirement Jazz couldn’t sit still; he was always doing something.

Jazz loved fishing, hunting, sports, and picking up cans.

Jazz was preceded in death by his wife Yvonne Siler, parents Lacy and Fannie Siler, two sisters Joyce Siler and Shirley Hannah, and one brother Jimmy “Darling” Siler.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter Veronica Suzette Martin of Siler City, North Carolina; one son, Norman Vincent Siler, Sr. (Tonja) of Washington, DC; three sisters, Margie Milliken (Sam), Mary Lois Eubanks (Roy), and Mary Lane Brewer; one brother, Toby Siler; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
