As the sun set Sunday, July 17, 2016, Isaac Austin Van Sciver , Jr. started his walk home with his Savior, Jesus Christ. He knew this day would come when at the age of 9 in a tent revival meeting, he acknowledged Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was ready. He was born July 19. 1923, to parents Isaac A. Van Sciver, Sr. and Bertha May (Snyder) Van Sciver, later he was joined by a brother, Albert, and a sister, Margaret. He was a farmer all his life. He loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.

He was well known for his Jersey sweet corn and purchased the very first automated sweet corn picker in the state of New Jersey. Farming was a family effort with his wife and two girls helping out with the planting and harvesting. As an outdoorsman he was a member of the South Park Gunning Club. Having no sons, he thoroughly enjoyed sharing his love of hunting with his grandsons who he many times brought with him on that first week of December also known as “Deer Season”. He had a woodworking shop set up in his garage and would be known for spending time out there during the winter months hand crafting shelves, knick knacks, benches, and plant stands for all of “his girls”.

He also crafted toy boxes, rocking horses, and table and chairs for his grandchildren. Married for almost 72 years to his best friend, Ruth Jean(Wallace) Van Sciver. They together established a home on a sixty acre farm in Edgewater Park and raised two daughters, Nancy Darlene (Russ) Minuto and Yvonne Jean (Dick) Anderson. He had 4 grandchildren who brought joy and an audience for his many stories of farming and hunting. Michael David (Sherine) Minuto, aMark Dominic (Lizabeth) Minuto, Lauren Michelle (Rob) Fernholz and Todd Matthew (Kim) Anderson. They also had 11 great grandchildren, Jordan, Connor, Riley, Emma, Austin, Caitlyn, Alyssa, Ryan, Alexandra, Matthew and Julia.

His faith and relationship with Jesus Christ was the foundation on which he stood, walked, and conducted his life. He was a member of Easton Bible Church for over 30 Years.
