Hildred G. ”Whitey” Janes, 74, Noblesville, died July 1, 2005 at Riverview Hospital-Noblesville after an extended illness.
He was born January 23, 1931 in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, and resided in Noblesville. He had been a resident of this area since 1954.
He retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors after 42 years of service. He was a member of Faith Apostolic Church in Carmel.
He was a member of UAW Local #663. He enjoyed hunting and loved Southern Gospel music.
He is survived by his two sons, Mike & wife Helen Janes of Cookeville, Tennessee and Gary & wife Jean Janes of Noblesville; two sisters, Mildred Hendrick and Ruth Mitchner; two brothers, William Janes and Kenneth Janes; four granddaughters, Tricia Janes Clarkson, Amy Janes Darlington, Julie Janes Hutton and Ashley Janes; grandson, Austin Janes; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife whom he married in 1953, Jane O. Shoopman Janes who passed away in 1987; his parents, Rollin & Lonie Garmon Janes; and a brother, Rollin Janes Jr.
