George Esteban Leal (81) of New Orleans, Louisiana died January 30, 2010 at Ochsner Hospital. He was born December 26, 1928 in Cienfuegos Cuba to the late Antonino Leal of Cuba and the late Lucille Bell Riemer of New Orleans, LA where he was raised and lived out his life.

Proceeded in death by his brother Robert Morell (Bob) Leal who was married to the late Marilyn Williams Leal and also by his beloved late aunt Margaret Bell Haley all of New Orleans, LA; As well as the following late uncle and aunts: Elmer Bell of New Orleans, LA, Myrtle Pineda of Chicago, IL, Agnes Waguespack, of St. Louis, MO, and Grace Wilson, Ozark, MO.

Survived by his nephew, Darryl Leal and his wife Lori Leal and their children Sara, Courtney, and Brett; and his niece Sherry Leal and her husband Michael Funk, and their children Austin and Sean all of Atlanta, GA; As well as, his closest local cousins Janice Bell, Robert Haley of New Orleans, and Sandra Haley Davis formerly of New Orleans now residing in Little Rock, AR.

Mr. Leal served in the Army of the United States during the Korean War. After the war he returned to new Orleans and attended Tulane University where he graduated in 1956 with a BBA degree in accounting.

Early in his career, George was employed as accountant for Baptist Hospital and later serving on many corporate boards, including the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce as head accountant. George later retired from the corporate world to become a real estate entrepreneur.
