Gary was born in Waterbury on December 9, 1948, son of the late Charles L. and Alice M. (Howard) Packer.
He is survived by his son, Brett M. Packer and his wife Kimberly of Waterbury; one brother, Glenn Packer and his wife Rena of VT and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Kyle Patrick Packer and two sisters, Carol Cianchetti and Darlene Lassy.
