Francis Donald Spisak, Don, “Guppy”, Major USAF Ret. of Niceville, FL died on Monday, October 8th 2012.
Born on June 14, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA, son of Frank and Anna Spisak, survived by his wife of over 20 years, Kyong Spisak, his three sons, David Spisak and his wife Lahoma Allen of Asheville, NC, Mark Spisak and his wife Carol of McLean, VA and Craig Spisak and his wife Tara Scully of Alexandria, VA, his brother Bernard “Bernie” Spisak and his wife Anne of New City, NY, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and predeceased by his son Dale Spisak.
Guppy graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1955 as a member of the ROTC and upon graduation joined the United States Air Force.
Upon Guppy’s retirement, he was finally able to devote his energy to his true loves, his wife and family, his friends, boating and fishing, bowling and his fondest memories of his home town Pittsburgh and the Steelers. As a husband, father and friend, Guppy was happiest on his boat or at the bowling alley sharing his time, energy and positive spirit with his friends or family always with a smile on his face.
