Donald Lee Hawkins SR, 69, of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Sunday morning, October 6, 2013 at Hamilton Medical Center surrounded by family and many friends. Born on October 25, 1943 in Dalton, Georgia, he was the son of the late Gordon and Frances Hawkins.
He loved to go hunting and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Donald was married to the love of his life Joan Hawkins for 52 years and in addition to her, he is survived by his son and daughter in law, Donnie JR and Wendy Hawkins of Varnell; daughter, Tammy Townsend of Dalton; brother and sister in law, Clay and Rethel Hawkins of Nicklesville; brother, Greg Hawkins of Varnell; grandchildren, Brandon Townsend, Ryan Townsend, Hannah Hawkins, BB Hawkins and Zaya Hawkins; our very extended adoptive family over the years, who we love and cherish.
