Alverse Eddie Pitts 71 of 112 Leaf Lane passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Wayne UNC Memorial Healthcare in Goldsboro.

Born in 1945 in Washington, DC to the late Robert Pitts and Helen Butler Pitts-Brown and Step-Father Bishop J.C. Brown.

“Al” as we all called him was a great cook and loved to do so, he was one of the greatest helpers to all who called upon him. Al loved the outdoors and taking care of his dogs. He loved his family dearly and was well loved by all, especially the young kids in his community. Most of the young children called him “Pops”, “Dad” or “Unc” because he was always there to offer help or advice.

Alverse accepted Christ as his Savior at New Life Church of Clinton, NC where he became a member who truly loved the Lord! Alverse spent many years in the construction and painting industry as well as decorating. He was preceded in death by his brothers Johnny Pitts and Horace Pitts and sisters Betty Pitts, Candace Pitts and Margaret Pitts.

Al leaves to cherish his memories: His loving wife: Anita Pitts, Children: Tiffany Pitts, Michael Brooks and wife Shannon, Delonta Pitts, Vikki Pitts Duran and husband Cliff, Sterling Banks, Steven Pitts, David Keys, Stephanie Keys. God Son: James Rico Rush and wife Shanice, Brothers and Sisters: Robert Pitts, Tyrone Pitts, Linda Haner, Tonya Sheron. Special Brother in Christ: Bishop Johnny McClan, Father-in-Law: Roosevelt Williamson, Sister-in-Law: Nicole Boykin and husband Wayne, Brother-in-Law: Lonnell Rich and wife Amy, 13 Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
