Trusting and believing in the infallibility of God, our Heavenly Father, we lay to rest our beloved Moses Willis Thompson, husband, father, grandpa, uncle “Moe,” brother-in-law and friend. He was born February 3, 1942 in Jacksonville, Florida and spent his early years in Red Springs, North Carolina, returning to Jacksonville at the age of thirteen. Not
long after, he met his future wife, Willie Mae Harden, in her grandmother’s kitchen.

Moses joined the United States Air Force in 1959 and later married his teenage love, Willie Mae Harden. He served two tours in Vietnam and traveled to various states as well as Europe.

He loved music, cooking and entertaining family and friends. He would often deem himself the “world’s oldest teenager,” meaning that he lived life to the fullest. He was a giver at heart and always ensured his family was taken care of.

In his latter years, Moses began attending West Jacksonville COGIC, until he was unable to attend due to health challenges, including dementia.

The Word of God says, … “the prayers of the righteous availeth much.” (James 5:16) As Moses put his faith in the Lord Jesus, he welcomed prayer with a bowed head, murmuring Jesus and praying along.

Moses leaves to cherish his love and memory, his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Willie Mae; sons, Christopher (Lee) and Alonzo, both of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Monica (James) Prince of Alexandria, VA; sisters, Aria Haynes and Garriel Jones McCutchen; five brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law, seven grandchildren, Salace, Cordell, Shevon, Joshua, Danny, BréYanna and Jada; nine great grands, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other family members and friends.
