Morris King Koontz, 90, of Westminster, went to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Born October 30, 1931 in Silver Run, he was the son of the late William Henry Koontz and Jennie Adylotte Koontz.  He was married to his loving wife Charlotte Dutterer Koontz who died in 2018.

Morris was a graduate of Westminster High School Class of 1948.  When he was a young man he obtained his pilot’s license and flew planes from the local airport.  Earlier in his life he ran a family owned business. Later retiring from a 27 year career at C & P Telephone Company (Verizon) as a telephone repairman. Morris was a lifelong member of Westminster United Methodist Church.  Morris loved music (especially Big Band) and loved to dance.  He met his future wife Charlotte in the Westminster High School gym where they started a lifetime of dancing together.  Morris was still dancing at the age of 84 at his grandsons wedding.  Morris loved spending family vacations at the Ocean City beach and swimming in the ocean. He enjoyed playing cards with Nelsons and Martins and family.  Morris went to many old car shows with his friend Bob Nelson.  Morris loved to paint and was good at carpentry and fixing anything around the house.  Morris was extremely proud of all his children’s educational accomplishments and of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s numerous deeds and accomplishments.  He loved spending time with all his family.

Survived by his children Linda Blizzard (Jerry) of New Windsor, Dean Koontz (Carolyn) of Littlestown, PA, Gale Salter (Michael) of Westminster, Laurie Ewin (Robert) of Frederick; grandchildren Aaron Salter, Wendy Plank, Travis Blizzard, Emily Ewin, Sarah Ewin, Krystle Koontz and Jenny Koontz, great-grandchildren Beth Blizzard, Alli Naecker (Jesse), Evelyn Salter, Emma Koontz, Zachary Plank, Jessica Jones (Steve), Riley Koontz and Jonah Salter, great-great grandson Clayton.

He was predeceased by a sister Mildred Koontz and a brother Karl Koontz.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
