Upland: Morris D. “Dick” Chrisp, 85, died at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday at the Veteran’s Administration Northern Indiana Health Care System. He was born the son of the late Otho H. and Leanna (Campbell) Chrisp in Bald Knob, Arkansas. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Hendrix College, Conway, Arkansas, in 1950.
He served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1953. Mr. Crisp was formerly employed as a service dispatcher for Kennedy Heating and Air Conditioning. He had formerly been employed with Upshur County Appraisal District in Gilmer, and Lone Star Steel. He had lived in Marion since 1999, when he moved from Gilmer, TX. He enjoyed camping and traveling.
Survivors include two sons, his companion, Shirley Ball, Marion; David (Marti) Chrisp, Longview TX, and Joe Chrisp, Gilmer TX; son-in-law, Michael Ridding, Irving, TX; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael, a daughter, Melinda, and a brother, Julian.
