Ramona (Mona) Wetzel, 85 years young at heart, passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 with her loving daughter, Karen by her side. This wonderful and most generous wife, mother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother was born November 30, 1928 in Corsicana, Texas. Mona was preceded in death by her parents, Harry L. Schneider and Juanita (nee) self; her loving husband of 62 years, Frank H. Wetzel, daughter, Laura Jean Wetzel, her sister, Jackie Dempsey, and great grandson, Tyler Perez. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Wetzel and Anita Zurell; two granddaughters, and many great grandchildren, and family in New York and New Jersey. Mona always greeted everyone with a smile and expected a hug in return. She was a go getter and involved in many organizations in the Hill Country. It all began when she was President of the Chamber of Commerce in the early 80″s, then moving on to positions dear to her heart which included the Kendall County Republican Women, and Hill Country Cattlewomen. The family is grateful to the Angels at All County Home Health and Hospice, Meals on Wheels volunteers at the Kronkosky Place, nurse next door caregivers, Leilani and Terry and overwhelmed by the countless acts of kindness and prayers from many friends and neighbors.
