Mrs. Minnie Kirkland Underwood, 84 of Newnan, GA passed away Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Insignia Health & Rehabilitation. She was born March 12, 1936 in Emmanuel County, GA to the late Henry Frank Kirkland & Lessie Mae Moore Kirkland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Joseph Claude Underwood, son Sid Underwood, and daughter-in-law, JoAnne McKnight Underwood. Mrs. Underwood grew up in Emmanuel County and was a graduate of Summertown High School. She graduated from Carroll Technical School with a degree in Nursing. She retired after a more than 30 year career as a nurse with the State of Georgia.
