Milford Earl Landwert, age 93, of Salem, died at 4:45 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2013 at the Salem Community Hospital with his family by his side. He was born October 24, 1919 in Salem, Ohio, a son of the late John Henry and Adda (Lutton) Landwert. A mechanical engineer, he retired from the E.W. Bliss Co. and also worked at the Salem Public Library for several years. Milford was a member of the Salem First Friends Church. Milford was a graduate of Salem High School class of 1937 and received a BS of Mechanical Engineering Degree from Youngstown College in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received two Purple Hearts. His wife, Marjorie A. (Zeller) Landwert, whom he married June 22, 1951, preceded him in death on February 19, 2011. Survivors include an adopted son, Mark A. (Janet) Landwert of San Antonio, Texas; and five grandchildren. An adopted son, Monte Landwert; an infant sister, Marie Landwert; and two brothers, Ralph and Alfred Landwert also preceded him in death.
