Mildred M. Pinter, 89, of Lakeside, Michigan died Wednesday morning, April 1, 2009 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman. Mildred was born February 3, 1920 in Wheatfield, Indiana. She began working at the Wheatfield Drug Store at an early age and graduated from Wheatfield High School in 1937. Mildred was employed at the Munitions Factory in Kingsbury, Indiana for many years.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Wheatfield for 40 years. Mildred married Carroll John Pinter on February 7, 1948 in Crown Point, Indiana. In 1984 they moved to Lakeside, Michigan. Mr. Pinter died on March 8, 1988. Mildred enjoyed antiques and collecting dolls for over 50 years.

Survivors include her children, Doralee Vickers of Lakeside and Richard A. (Leona) Boezeman of LasVegas; grandchildren, Richard Boezeman; Laura & Alberto Freis; Michelle Boezeman; James & Kelly Vickers Jr; Jon and Jennifer Vickers; and Jeffrey & DeeDee Vickers; great grandchildren, Jordan, Benjamin, Jake, Josh, Max, Frank, Ava, Sam, Ashley & Leon; great great grandchildren, Tyler and Bailey. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Steele; mother Letha Kerns; stepfather, William R. Kerns; sister, Janet Wakefield; and son-in-law, James Vickers Sr.
