Mildred (Millie) Kapitan, 91, beloved wife of the late Charles (Chic) Kapitan, left this life on Earth on May 20, to spend eternity with him. They had been married for 58 years. Born in Norwalk on January 9, 1925, she resided most of her life in Norwalk. She was predeceased by 5 brothers and sisters: Francis (Bud) and Charles (Chuck) Blauvelt, and Katherine, Carl, and Frederick Wilson. She is survived by her only child, Lynn Kapitan of Canton, CT and her 3 grandchildren, now adults, Ryan, Darlene, and Trevor Gilbertie, who she adored. In her teenage years, she had such a beautiful soprano voice that she was asked to sing on a weekend radio show. Millie enjoyed bowling, boating with her family, and reading mystery novels. She loved to dance, her favorite dance being the polka. Underneath her sometimes strong nature, for those who knew and loved her, she was a very giving person.
