Mildred M. Millie DeCook, 90 of South Bend, IN, passed away at 9:45pm Thursday, September 29, 2005 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, IN, following a brief illness.
She was born to the late Henry and Emma (DeWitt) DeVleeschower in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident. Along with her parents; she was preceded in death by two sisters, Angela Dorsch and Lucy Porogi; and one brother, Julius Sis DeVleeschower.
Mrs. DeCook retired in 1975 from Grummell Community Coal Company in South Bend, after 40 years of employment.
On November 25, 1939, as Mildred M. Millie DeVleeschower, she married Cyriel DeCook at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. He died on November 19, 1976.
She is survived by one sister, June M. Goethals of Mishawaka, IN; one niece, Joyce Ploughe of South Bend, IN; two nephews, Norman (wife Gail) Goethals of Muncie, IN; Kenneth (wife Emily) Goethals of Bremen, IN; three grandnieces, Lisa Ploughe of South Bend, IN; Courtney Goethals of Chicago, IL; and Haley Goethals of Mishawaka, IN.
Mrs. DeCook was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, where she belonged to the Altar Rosary Society at the church. Millie was a loving sister and Aunt. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
