Mildred J. Carlton, 90, of Apison, Tennessee died Wednesday, August 19, 2009 in a local health care facility. Mrs. Carlton was of the Baptist faith and a retired housekeeper and was a “Mother” to all children and stray animals that came her way. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Housley and a sister, Elvada Hampstead. Survivors include her husband, Charles Lee Carlton, brother, Manuel Housley, Washington, NC; sister, Carrie Belle Johnston, Ooltewah; niece & caregiver, Debbie Delashmitt, Decatur; several other nieces & nephews.
