Mildred Joy Badke, 92, of Goshen, formerly of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 25, 2011, at Courtyard Healthcare Center.
She was born July 29, 1919, in Elkhart County, to Louis and Carrie Myrtle (Lechlitner) Wise. She married Bernard Roger Badke on June 29, 1941, in Elkhart. He died on Sept. 13, 1962, in Elkhart.
Surviving are a son, Dennis L. (Andrea) Badke of Bristol; a daughter, Darlene (Devon) Williamson of Bryon, Ga.; four grandchildren, Rev. Daniel Kiefer, Darcie and David Williamson and Auna Badke; also four great-grandchildren; a brother, Lloyd Wise of Nappanee; and two special extended family members, Nancy Cook Moore and Pat Cook Steele of Elkhart.
Her husband; a son, Bernard Roger Badke Jr.; daughter Cathy Jo Badke; brother Norris Wise; and sisters Mary Wise and Anna Synder preceded her in death.
Joy worked at CTS for more than 47 years, where she was a member of the CTS Quarter Century Club. She was a longtime member of Zion Missionary Church, the church sewing group and the Order of the Eastern Star.
